Dr Astrid Fellner was appointed as Chair in North American Literary and Cultural Studies at Saarland University (Department of British, North American, and Anglophone Literatures and Cultures) with effect from 1 October 2009.

  • Recipient of an Erwin-Schrödinger-Fellowship awarded by the Austrian Research Funds (FWF); spent at the Univ. of Massachusetts at Amherst and the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester, MA.
  • Theodor Körner Fonds Research prize for the project 'Bodily Sensations' (2005)
  • Siemens Prize for Best Dissertation in American Studies in Austria in 1999
  • Fulbright Scholarship at the University of Texas at Austin (1990)
